Listen after searching the forum I realize this subject has been beaten to death and I have tried to find the answer on previous posts but just one question please

I have a retail version of Windows XP Home

Im building a new computer (havent done this for a while) and all I want to know is if I remove Windows from my old hard drive do I have the "right" to install it on my new computer? I suppose I will need to call Microsoft for this according to the information on the forum. Does this sound reasonable?

If it is a retail copy then you can remove it from one PC and then install and use it on a different PC as many times as you could ever want to.

The only problem you're ever likely to encounter would be a possible need to activate the installation by telephone, and that may not be needed anyway.
