I don't use a floppy drive and was wondering if there was any reason I could not clip the connector for the floppy off and make it a standard 4 pin?

The wires are the same and I don't see why you can't, but just want to double check.

You could do it, just make sure to splice the correct pins onto the end, and put them in the right order. Alternative is to snip it, take a spare molex with wires attached already (like an old psu), splice, and you're set.

I have taken off the connectors before and added new ones, but never just replaced a connector with a differant type.

Just making sure.

Thanks
