Simple mind - simple question: What is "VIVO"?

 Yes, I know... this is probably proving to you all what a moron I am. But I can't find a clear definition of VIVO. However, being the smart person that I pretend to be, I've deduced that VIVO is simply a designation given to a graphics card that has Video Input and Video Output. Is this correct?

For example, if I got a VIVO card, I could take old VHS tapes and create files on my PC, then burn them to DVD for a more compact and longer lasting storage?

yes, vivo stands for video in/ video out, but to rip those tapes you will also need capture software, though many manufacturers bundle some sort of capture app with their vivo cards.
