Simple fluid question

Hi I hope someone can help me with this question about Fluid which I thought I'd ask before I purchase some.

On some forums I visit in Water Cooling related threads some users are saying it is a bad idea to use Fluid which contains colorant in it. For example Feser One, people said not to use this because on small pin matrix blocks it can gunk up.

My question: is this true? Should I not purchase Fluid that has been colored? I intended to purchase Feser One UV Blue for my new system, if this fluid is not good is there another fluid I should use that is safe and stable with colorant?

Thanks for looking at my question!

I was wondering the same thing. Do I use distilled water and put silver and algae killer or use a product like Fesser?

Save yourself the headache and use colored tubing and straight distilled water. The junk in the bottles always fades over time, and can even stain clear parts. And the UV always wears out pretty quickly at least the crap I used a few years back. Colored tubing always stays perfect, a lot of colors to choose from, and distilled water is pretty much the best coolant anyways.

So the majority of people use distilled water and not the various cooling liquids?

Distilled all the way, I tried the colored Feser crap and it's true, it gunks the hell out of the heatsink. I ran it for about a week and then decided to empty it out and it was a huge PITA to clean out. Just get colored tubing like someone said, it looks exactly the same anyway. Also my temps didn't change at all, if anything they actually dropped a degree or 2, or could just be because I remounted the HS.

Oh and for colored tubing, I recommend Primoflex.

I'm going to be water cooling in a couple weeks myself and I am only going to use distilled water and silver fittings. I've been Googling like a mad man the last 2 weeks and this is what seems to be the most recommended.

The silver fittings are a natural way to keep the algae from building up. You can buy killcoils to but silver fittings work just the same.

That is correct.

You only need a couple silver fittings. You do not have to buy all silver. I was going get 12, but was told not to waste the money. I got 2 silver barbs and 2 silver compression fittings (For the CPU.) for my planned setup. Then some much cheaper normal barbs. That way if I get a second pump I already have silver for 2 loops. (Getting 2 rads but 1 pump for now.)

I definately agree distilled water only with true silver fittings all the way. Have used it for 6 months now and no issues. I used the feaser clear UV stuff and only 3 days in I found my Heatkiller 3.0 all gunked up. Never again.

You only need additives in mixed metal loops.

If you're using all copper components its best to use plain distilled water with a silver killcoil or some copper(II) sulfate.

Thanks for all the feedback, I am going to go with one set of silver compression fitting for the water block on my system.
Distilled water system. :D:D:D:D

Don't forget to price match them!!!

Or Google BP-SLCPF-CC3 to find them cheaper or at your preferred E-tailer.

stay away from colored coolants. or you can do like i did an ignore everyone and use colored coolant. start clogging stuff after some time. it stains and its a pain in the A$s cuz you gotta clean it more often than distilled water and pt nuke!
