Anyone know where I can get cheap SIM cards? Or free I want to test some phones I have to see if unlocked but I don’t have another sim.

I went to Walmart to look but all the peg hooks were empty

From my memories, putting an inactive sim from the wrong network is enough to get an error if the phone is locked.

Personally, I've probably got like 40 old sims, from a variety of networks, in a variety of sizes. At the moment, we have 3 active sims in my house, and we're all on different networks, so I could also try with those.

But if you need an old inactive sim, I can probably drop one in the mail next week --- just confirm size (probably nano, right?) and what network you have a sim for so I can send a different one. PM me your address, I'll pick out a sim, make sure it doesn't have any sim contacts and send it over.

I would just take it to any phone carrier store and ask them for one to test with, or if there's a rep cool enough there they can prolly spare an old/inactive SIM for you to keep.

Aren't sim kits usually $1? can sometimes find them at drug stores, but I think they're usually bundled with a prepaid card for $10 or so.

thanks everyone, great ideas ill take it local an see what they can tell me. Thanks for the offer Toast0 if i dont get anywhere ill send you a pm

I'm sure you could punch in a code into the keypad and have it go into a diag menu that will tell you the lock status of the modem.

the problem likely is that it's 30 hidden menus for 20 different phone and android version combinations. A cheap universal option is likely faster than looking each one up separately.
