I purchased the ST50-P for my Mini ITX computer specs in the sig; however, ran into a little problem with my video card. My 6950 calls for 2x 6pin connectors and well seems like my power supply only has one modular input for a 8pin->6pin+2 cable.

Can I make a 8pin splitter to 2x 6pin? Will I run into any problems doing this?

There are 6-pin splitters out there (one 6-pin to two 6-pin). Just make sure your power supply can handle the load.

hmmm, would my power supply be able to handle the load? On silverstone's website it says that this power supply supports up to a 6950; however, find it kind of weird that the psu itself doesnt have the physical connectors to do so.

500 watts is enough to power a 6950 and basically any CPU.

The PSU is enough. Your video card should have come with at least one molex to PCI-E adapter. You can use that to solve your problem.

if i use a molex to PCI-E adapter it would add more cable clutter to the mini itx build. I only have a small area to work with. I have the spare cables for making my own splitter cable. I've heard that splitter cables arent good to use, is this true?

well its either use a splitter or buy a new psu. for 1 6950 with a 500 watt psu, the splitter will be fine.

Thanks for the replies. Im going to make a splitter with the extra cables from the silverstone short cable set. I had thought about buying another supply; however, I had just bought this psu and sending it back is just another hassle I don't want to deal with. What I like about this psi is that its only 140mm length and modular.. so less clutter In my already cluttered case.

hahaha well i feel like fool, i didnt even look in the ST50F-P box and look at the cables. When i got the power supply i immediately took the power supply out and opened the short cable set. The short cable set doesn't come with a splitter; HOWEVER, the power supply does include a splitter of it's own.. wow goofballed this one up lol

ohwell.. i'm still going to make a splitter for the short cable set :)
