Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Don't know if any of you were looking for these, but for any modular Silverstone PSU's Performance PCs has their new cable set in stock. $22 + shipping though
I got this set for my new build (from PPC's) and it's pretty nice. I live 1 mile away so I just picked it up in store. Only caveat was that the SATA power stalk was bad in the set I got.
I had the previous short cable set they had (I think the model number was PP03). Just go this new set and the cables look identical. I don' t know why they discontinued the first set in the first place.
PP05 is designed for the new generation STxxF PSU's
Try fitting the PP03 on let's say... a ST70F... it's never gonna happen because they changed the connectors on the PSU's
[note] People intending on buying the revised ST60F can only use the PP05 [/note]
Well allthough the ST85F isn't on the official compatible list, it does make sense to make the PP05 backward compatible for 'older' PSU's like your ST85F.
Otherwise it would just end up in people not buying the ST75F and ST85F, because the PP03 isn't available anymore.
I put the build of my rig on hold for the very same reason. Considering on using the ST70F, but in Holland the PP03 is long gone, but the PP05 should hit the shelves real soon.
However, if it should take too long I'm gonna jump ship and go for the CM Silent Pro M700. I know it has only 2 8-pin PCI-E connectors but it's not like I'm gonna CF 2 4870's/4890's. 2 4850's/4770's will do fine for 1080p gaming.
The only difference I see b/w the PP03 and PP05 cables are that the tabs / clips on the connectors of the PP03 cables are wider than the ones on the PP05.
