Hardware Secrets says the SilverStone HE02 heatpipe HSF is a great cooler, as long as you don't try using it without a fan.

The HE02 is a CPU cooler from SilverStone that has a tower heatsink, six heatpipes, and can be used in passive mode, i.e., without any fan. Let's test it and see if it really works well without a fan.

Kind of funny they are adopting asymmetrical heatsinks for chipset clearance...when motherboard chipsets have gone the way of the dodo bird on the Intel side of the aisle.

That being said I think HawdwareSecrets made an oopsy-daisy. An 1155 CPU is only a 95W CPU at stock if you're using the on-die graphics otherwise it more like an 80W CPU IIRC. Which means for a NewEgg price of $77, this cooler is even more lackluster in not meeting the ad blurb.

What a shitty review. They admitted they couldn't account for rated cooling performance because they were running an overclocked CPU and didn't know its wattage TDP.

Leave reviews like this to guys who know what they're doing and actually bother to set up a control set of circumstances to test against.
