anyone tested this?

I called silverstone won't hit the markets until the end of the month. Just hoping that someone has some connections that they might have gotten their hands on one.

Its not like I need the power for my system, I'm just looking for something quiet. initial specs show 24 dba with a large fan.

Max. DC Output
1200W continuous

Cooling System
Single 135mm ball bearing fan

Noise Level
23 dBA

Weight
4 kg

Dimension
150 mm (W) x 85 mm (H) x 220 mm (D)

The OP1200 is based on an Enhance unit IIRC - I don't have high hopes for it based on how other high power Enhance based Silverstones have performed. Enhance is very good below 650W or so, but above that the wheels always seem to fall off.

My suggestion based on your comments in the PC P&C thread would be to replace the Silencer with a Corsair 620W - it will handle GTX in SLI. Or, have a look at the Ultra X3 1kW, which uses a 135mm fan and will be a whole lot better than any high power Enhance out there.

Thank you Oklahoma Wolf

I'm willing to try just about anything getting to hate this leaf blower noise, Love the quality just hate the noise.

I thought the Ultra's name sounded familiar so I dug through my closet and found an Ultra infinity XF600. I remember now why I replace that unit it was the worse fan noise in my case.

I hope the Ultra X 1000 is a lot quieter. Of course the 1000 has one big fan and the XF600 has that 80mm so that might account for a noise difference.

Totally different OEM - I never cared much for the Wintech built Ultras like the X-Finity. The X3 on the other hand is a horse of another color ;)

If I can help, I have a silverstone ST85ZF and it's very quite plus I also have 7x 120
coolermaster led fans in my 830 stacker and the only thing I can hear is quite humming sound:)

Do you have the Evolution version of that case? Is there much room between the top fan bracket and the end of the PSU? I'm interested in getting this case but with a Silverstone OP1000, instead.

Heck yeah I'm taking all the help I can get.

I don't want to spend $10,000 on a power supply, So I can't say money is no object, because I think that would be crazy.

Anyway I am more than willing to spend the money on a good power supply the ultra x3 sounds good but so does the Corsair. I have a closet full of power supplies that I have collected over the years I just don't want to add to the collection. ;)

So I really want to make a decision I realize I already have a good power supply and I was on the phone the other day with PC P&C for about 40 minute trying to figure out what can be done. They don't have an answer in fact they maintain that the 8800 GTX's are pulling 400 watts and I about maxed out on what the 750 can handle. However from what I'm gathering from here is that a corsair 620 can handle it no problem. Hence my hesitancy to purchase anything and why I'm leaning toward the Ultra x3 1000.

This is where I am getting confused at and this is from my post on Kill-A-Watt
If you are pulling 345 watts AC and your PSU is 80% efficient then your DC draw is 345*.80=276w. How much of that is 12v is a little harder to figure because you also have 5v adn 3.3v outputs. But your 12v draw isn't more than 276w/12v=23A.

At the risk of sounding like an Ass. A watt is a watt whether it is a 12v watt or a 3v watt or a 110v watt isn't it??
because isn't the Kill-A-Watt just measuring what the power supply is pulling? and however it (the power supply) converts it to,who cares? So my system only needs a 300 watt power supply?? no not really because from what I understand we really don't want to stress the power supply more than 50% or 60% right? so then a Corsair 620 should be more than enough.

then I run into the Corsair 620 only having 2x PCI connections of course I can run adapters, I hate adapters and it also doesn't show up as being an approved SLI power supply for 8800 GTX's(see this site http://www.slizone.com/object/slizone_build_psu.html )
and if I have problems at one point will I be asked well what power supply are you running ah that is what voided your warranty on your video cards.

I have fried $400 in one video card before, which was my mistake. I just don't want to do anything that will cause $2000 damage in video card's. so please understand why I'm not so quick to make a decision.

So I have PC P&C telling me one thing, another conclusion be reached on this forum. Great reviews on the Corsair just can't find any on the Ultra X3 1000 ( I goggled different things just can't seem to find reviews).

Thank you all for your input and putting up with my stupid questions

Yes my case is the first one that came out

There is no room between the psu and fan, I just bent the bar to fit it in,
If you bought the OP1000 there is NO way the fan will fit its just to long

A watt doesn't tell you the current. 200watts at 12v is a different current than 200w at 5v. You can't figure a 12v load strictly from your total AC draw. So without knowing for certain what your load distribution is can overload or crossload a power supply.

Really? Well that sucks.

On the Cooler Master website it says that PSUs, up to 230mm long, can fit in the Stacker 830 evolution:

Power Supply Standard ATX PS2 (Optional)
Support EPS 230mm PSU

I'm confused. The Silverstone OP1000 should fit, being about 210mm long, so there shouldn't be a problem. Are you definitely sure that your Stacker 830 is the Evolution model, because the original, apparantly, can't fit large PSUs but the Evolution can.

Do any of the 8800GTX SLi supported PSUs have a single +12v rail (not including PC P&C, because they aren't available in the UK)?

Just remember which of the two is making money off of you based on their advice. ;)

that of course is srtting all biases aside......
That of course is taking into account that everybody commenting on this issue knows more than the good people at PC Power & Cooling.........

Have a nice day!!

But at least they did acknowledge there PSU`s are to some people somewhat loud!!

Have a nice day!! :D

Yes I have the 830 Evolution Stacker. My power supply is 180mm long and the only room I got is
175mm long thats why I had to bend the 2 bars for the ST85ZFand with the fan.
If you got the OP1000 it's 220 in depth and as I said there's no way it will fit with the
fan included. The only way to have the OP1000 is to bend the bars way back and of
course no fan but it is a fantastic case and as I said I have 7 fans operating and it is very
quite. I hope this helps:)

Okay; thank you, and yes it does. But this still really sucks.

Here's an email i sent to to Cooler Master and the reply i recieved:

Hello, i am interested in purchasing the Cooler Master Stacker 830. Can you verify that, with the side fans installed, a Thermalright Ultra-120 CPU cooler would fit? Also, would i have any trouble fitting a Silverstone Olympia 1KW PSU in the Stacker 830 Evolution case, with the top fan installed? I have heard that people have had to bend the top fan bracket to fit large PSUs like this one, only i'm not sure if the same has to be done with the Evolution version of the case. Another thing, if the Evolution case can fit 230mm long PSUs, does this mean that the top fan has been moved further to the front of the case to allow for more room at the back?

I am looking forward to your response.

The cooler you want to use will fit.

Same goes for the power supply, it will fit. You don’t have to move or bend the fan bracket.
