Silverbench results

No LOL I was just wondering if anyone had run it and whether you guys consider it a legit benchmark along the lines of cinebench 10 or 11.5 or fritz or something.

It's not a "legit benchmark" or "illegit benchmark". It's just a benchmark of his RT implementation running on Silverlight/.NET. It should be taken for nothing more.

Cinebench is useful to judge hardware performance in Cinebench and Fritz bench is useful to judge CPU performance in Fritz Chess. Both have mediocre correlation in predicting performance in other types applications.

I'm not sure why anyone would want to run a Silverlight/.NET ray tracer, especially not one where it's not available for general use, unlike say POV-Ray. It's a synthetic benchmark on a much less than optimal choice of platform. It tells you very little other than what I mentioned above.

There is no one benchmark to rule them all.
