Silicon Image 3114

hi,

dabs has a sata 4 port card with the Silicon Image 3114 chipset. i owuld like to use this card in my server without raid.

will this give acceptable i/o speed

and no i will not be buying a expensive controller

IIRC its a SATA I Chipset that doesn't support NCQ.

I never had an issue running the one that was on my IC7-Max 3.

Speeds were decent.

I use a PCI card with this chipset for eSATA. Speeds are just fine.
