FX-55, DFI lanparty, Asus x850xtpe, g.skill mem, sound card as well, 2 raptors

will the SilenX PS rated at 450 watt be adequate for this system? what about the 400 watt? I don't plan to overclock.

my last computer sounds like a jet engine, trying not to go that way again.

3.3V - 30.0A
5.0V - 32.0A
12.0V - 18.0A

Are the listed specs. Post your full configuration. There are so many things missing from that list you provided. Include case fans and EVERYTHING that wuill draw power from the PSU.

Sorry, last time I built a computer it wasn't so critical.

Here is the rest of the details:

From Orig. Post:

DFI Lanparty UT nF4 Ultra-D
FX-55 Retail (includes heatsink and fan, newegg doesn't provide fan specs)
Asus x850xtpe pci-e
G.skill 1GB (2x512) 2-2-2-5
1x WD Raptor 74GB SATA (not going with 2 drives)
1x 120mm fan (from Antec Performance I p160 case)
winfast tv2000xp tvtuner
audigy 1 card

I can't think of anything else. If I'm missing something (like not enough fans) let me know.

If someone can make a recomendation, by all means, go ahead. Am I sticking myself in the back by going with a silent psu?

Read The Sticky

Spend the half hour to run the numbers...you should be able to figure it out. My guess is that the 450 will okay if you don't plan on OC'ing. If you plan on OC'ing then all bets are off.

Optical drives? Just guessing 1, I am getting 17.4 amps on the 12v

It looks like the 450 watt is just going to cut it. So I'm going to bump the spec up to the 520 watt that has 28 A at 12v to be on the safe side.
