Just got the silentmaxx 550 PSU and I gotta say this thing is DAMN quiet....I can't hear it at all, not even with my ear next to it...I was actualyl worried that the fans weren't working, but I could feel the hot air comming out....I just wanted to ask if its normal for a PSU to get really hot....when I shut down it gets so hot I can hardly touch it.....its just a little more touchable when its on....anyone had a similar experience with the silentmaxx PSUs?

did you notice a high frequency buzz/hum from the psu? i've heard that all quiet PSU compensate somehow via emitting high frequency noise. the heat is normal since the fan is low.

Nope, this thing is totally quiet....no noise high or low.....

Its amazing that this thing can get so hot and last...well that's to be seen =)
