I was worried when I first heard that team silent would not be making this game. My worries were laid to rest when I found out "the collective" were huge fans of silent hill 2 and actually put together a demo for konami before they even knew if they landed the contract for silent hill v.

Here are some screenshots and info (I love the damage the nurse gets from the cut):

I always liked the bizarre creature designs in Silent Hill games, and it looks like this one is pushing them even farther. The whole surreal/ambient horror concept appeals to me far more than the more "jump scare" oriented stuff.

Oooh, sounds like the gameplay got an upgrade. I can't help but hope that this will be better than the last few SHs.

Cool Pics. I have a good feeling about this one. It has to be better than the Room . That game wasnt even supposed to be a silent hill game they just put the name on there to make it sell.

Where did you read that? What was it supposed to be?

SH4 wasn't that bad. Was weaker of the 4 but still interesting. I think on the 3rd till last stage (second visit to the prison) but I'm gettin ga little annoyed having to take care of the girl. Sort of kills the suspense.

I dont really remember, read it on this board somewhere along the lines(damn brain cell killing alcohol). So take it with a grain of salt.

It was supposed to be just "Silent Hill: The Room"... aka not a numbered sequel, and more of a spin-off, if anything.

Think of it like Resident Evil: Code Veronica.

I was pretty sure even though the situation was dire and atmosphere horrid, I would cop a feel on those nurses in the movie if I was in the main character's shoes. They'd end up hacking me to bits, but going out fondling a pair of perky C cups is fine by me.

Anyhow, I am very much looking forward to the fifth iteration of SH. SH2 was my favorite.

No, I actually remember reading it somewhere too....they were making a totally different game, but they started to notice that what they were doing would just fit closely in with a Silent Hill game, so they further developed it as one.

I think the two coolest things that stood out in there are 1) you can distract nurses using light & sound and 2) the world will transition in real time just like in the movie. I wish there were more next gen survival horrors.

Yeah the transition to the "other world" will be slick. It also says monsters will be able to break through doors, that will make game play much more difficult.

ROFLMAO. Yeah SH2 was good. This game will probably be the reason why I get a 360, if they don't port it to PC first. After all, SH2 was the reason I got a PS2 to begin with. :D

I've now been filled with a sense of dread. Just the thought that I can't just close a door and hide from something will make the game even more of a freak out.

Those nurses look like the ones from the movie.

no joke. I remember in silent hill 2 walking into a room with 3 nurses and my the static radio going insane.. I just turned around and left. Now they will be able to follow you.

But another cool thing is you can use projectors and other light emitting objects to throw the nurses off (kinda like they responded to light in the movie)

"The less you see, the scarier it is." He's 100% right. And, it looks like they took the nurse design from the Silent Hill movie. They almost look identical. It's very good. Can't wait for it.

Will it be PS3 exclusive? (nevermind) It's coming out for 360, and Ps3.

That's going to be so incredibly freaky. Like, you're in the "lighter" world, and then all of a sudden everything starts going dark and stuff. I wonder if you'll be able to hear the siren. That's going to freak me out so much. The moment I heard the siren, i'll want to hide somewhere.

Will the transitions be random, or will you have to perform certain tasks before the world shifts again?
