I am looking for a silent 750 watt PSU to power my sig rig. I'm currently looking at the PCP&C silencer. Does anyone have any suggestions or comments? The 1kw PSU I am currently using is too much for what I need and generates quite a bit of heat.

Thanks.

The PC P&C power supplies are easily some of the loudest made, including the silencers.

I never found audio/rpm measurements on the HX750/HX850, but if its closer to the HX520/HX620, it will be very quiet. If its like the HX1000, it won't.

The ZM850 is completely silent. I had one, but I guess it didn't like me and whined in 3d. You aren't guaranteed to have the same problem though.

The new OCZ Gold PSUs don't have the fans turn on until 20% load, so that could be useful for guaranteed silent low-load operation.

Good luck :).

The HX750 I would say quiet but not as slient as HX520/620 21db. You can also tell from their chart around 24db.
The TX750 is very quiet 22db, same as HX520/620. I have both, all are very quiet.
The Seasonic M12D 750W is very quiet, too.
The Scythe ChouRiki 700W should be slient, since Scythe fan is slient.

The Corsair HX750, Seasonic M12D 750W, and Antec Truepower New 750W would be my recommendations for silent PSUs of that power output. They are probably the best-performing PSUs in that range and all of them will be pretty much dead silent.
