can you not CoLoR the Font in your SiGs.... or make them BOLD... it wont let me... help please!! thanks

VB code is disabled in sigs. Its to keep the distraction of sigs to a minimum.

Sooo...
No working links-u can still post them, but they aren't hotlinks.
No size change in fonts.
No different fonts.
No quotes.
No alignment changes.
No pictures.
No colors.

BUT... You can have smileys.

Too bad we can't shrink the size of the font to make the signature smaller.
Oh well.

Just disable sigs like me. Its much less painful.

how is a Sig a distraction.... we should be aloud to put color n differ sizes if we want... but oh well, i cant change that.. :(

Thanks for the suggestions, but the signatures will stay devoid of any code, no matter the purpose. The only thing available to use in the smilies, nothing else.

i personally do not need any coding in a sig

i would just like a smaller font size for all sigs.

I've got sigs turned off since I really don't care whats in them and reduces the amount of scrolling needed to read through a thread.

I agree. If the font was smaller it woundn't blend in with the posts. Plus it would take up less room.

Speaking of signatures.....

I see your need for smaller font size, but it would still not change the rules guiding the length of 10 lines maximum per signature. You presently have 16 lines which needs to be pared back to 10 lines. ;)

lol, didn't see that

always make sure to repeat your user name in your sig incase people have trouble finding it

I like the sigs the way they are now. I hate forums where people have like a 4"x6" banner in thier sig, or, they use bold colors you can't read unless you highlight it.

I like the sigs just the way they are, if you want one that is more colorful, next time you sign a check, use a crayon.

To facilitate the policing of irritating signatures (those that violate forum rules) all you have to do is PM a mod, supermod or an admin and the problem will be solved almost immediately. This will have to be done on a case by case basis.

I'm diggin' the smaller font for sigs as well ... I usually make my sigs this size at forums where VB code in sigs is allowed :D

can we hard code it so sigs are only 10 lines?
No, we cannot. With vBulletin we can only set a limit on the total number of characters in a sig. Due to the fact that people use different screen resolutions and font sizes (and let's not forget line breaks), ten lines cannot be cast in stone, so we use the litmus test of ten lines at 800x600 and leave you on the honor system. There really aren't that many sig violations and, as Major said, they can be handled easily on a case-by-case basis as needed.

My apologies... I'll go modify it now.

well sigs are also displayed in a users public profile

I find sigs useful on ocasssion if they contain rig info
with troubleshooting a problem

but most of the time just amusing :p

Hmm... I think I might draw someting there with pure smileys. Who's with me?!

Yet you have a sig
Notice how small it is? I just don't wanna see sigs. If someone else does, then fine. I don't want to deny them the chance to know what i'm all about. :)

Sorry man, didn't know you weren't insulting me. Be cool. :D

I don't do that because people point to it when they have questions /rants / problems with their machines.

It would be nice if the default font was a size smaller. Doubt that will ever happen, this is [H]ardforum after all, mother of [H]ard heads and sister of [H]ardOCP.

I'd rather just have to click on the user name and see their profile to see the sig. It's just so much more efficient, even if it does create the neccessity to click once or twice more. Personal thing i guess. I just don't like seeing them with the thread. Period. I'm done.
