Hello mods,

I'm having an issue with my sig - it's currently at the max allowed limit (10 lines), but whenever I attempt to modify any small part of it, I get an error message saying: 1. Your signature contains too many lines and must be shortened. You may only have up to 10 line(s).

I'm not going beyond 10 lines when modifying, and I'm actually attempting to reduce the size of my sig during said procedure. Any reason why it's giving me this unusual error?

Dunno, I added "additional line" to your signature without problems, but it might be my authorization permissions making it possible. This is a new one on me unless something was changed and I haven't heard about it yet. Try clearing your forum cookies and log off/back on and try it again. If that doesn't work let me know and I'll make the changes for you.

Remember the Forum Rules concerning signatures.
"No active links, graphics, code, profanity or advertising allowed in the SIGNATURE. Sig line is limited to 10 lines total as viewed @ 800 x 600 resolution or no more that 15 words per line."

You are over the limit.

You are over the limit.

Hm, didn't know about the 800x600 rule. Nevertheless, I've had this "width" of sig for many months now without ever being denied until now.

Guess I'll have to trim it...what say you, mods?

It's the number of characters per line limit, which is set to 90. From the admin control panel:

Signature Soft-Linebreak Character Limit

When counting the number of lines in a signature, this setting controls the number of characters that can be displayed before text wraps in the browser and is displayed as multiple lines. Once this value is surpassed, the run of text will be counted as multiple lines.
Here's how your sig breaks down (minus the "Additional line" Major added), and no, I didn't sit and count characters, MS Word did that for me: ;)

137
120
110
108
(blank line)
151
(blank line)
114
81
61

So, 6 of your lines are over the 90 character limit. And don't forget that blank lines still count as lines.

K, cool. Thanks for the clarification. Time for a bit of snip snip.:p
