Up for auction is my Sigma 18-200mm F3.5-6.3 DC OS HSM Zoom Lens for Nikon. It is lightly used and in excellent condition.

Rings move smoothly. Auto-focus is fast and consistent. The lens was always used with a UV filter from day 1. Optics are in great condition and have no scratches.

How is this compared to the Nikon 18-200mm VR?

Over all I am very happy with the Sigma 18-200 its a terrific walk-about lens and I have had no issues with it. I have not had the pleasure of working with the nikkor 18-200 vr lens however from what I understand any lens in this category will have trade-offs involved with it. Meaning, with this focal range the lens becomes a jack of all trades and master of none. In my case I am selling this lens as I recently acquired a nikkor vr II 70-300 telephoto lens and a nikkor 18-70. I read a review somewhere that indicated the nikkor lens has better IQ but not by much. So for the cost the Sigma was a great buy in the 18-200 category.
