Ok, for about 2 weeks now ive been getting a few random reboots where the system would suddenly hang and then before I know it I am looking at the video card bios screen upon reboot.

I really could use some help as to what it could possibly be, so far ive tried relaxing memory timings as far as possible and its still continues to happen.

I've also tried better cooling, installed a new watercooling system in this machine its not getting that great of temps but it is cooler than it was on air... :\ (38*C at idle 46*C at full).

Now im fairly sure its not my psu (Antec TruePower 480w and never had problems with it before) but if you guys think it could be that I could try changing that out as well.

Another odd problem which im not sure if its related is that when I boot up and if I have to scan disc it will either hang for sometimes a few minutes after hitting any key or after going through the whole scan disk check. Usually it stops and just sits on the scan disk screen for anywhere from 30 seconds to sometimes quite a few minutes) but will always eventually go into desktop. I've done a reformat about 2 and a half weeks ago so I really dont know what could be causing the disk hanging.

Im really starting to wonder if I have a bad chip or motherboard and thats causing all the problems im getting, random reboots, system hangs (in scan disc) and fairly high temps even with watercooling.

Btw, I have checked and rechecked my watercooling setup, ive reseated the waterblock about 5 times so far all with these high temps, and yes I am using silver thermal paste. :(

Sorry for the long winded posted, hopefully someone out there can help me out. I could really use it. Thanks.

What OS? If you're using Win 9X with 512 megs of RAM, you're just asking for trouble...

Does your hard drive click more than it used to? If yes, sounds like a bad HDD problem. :(

I'm not farmiliar with WCing, but perhaps if you posted some actual specs (CPU, mainboard, BIOS, waterblock, rad, pump, etc) someone can shine some light on your problem.

Well first no im running Win XP Pro. Second the system im having problems with is in my sig, and the w/c parts im using are a 300gph pump, BIX radiator and a dtek tc4 rev 2 along with a danger den gf3 waterblock.

Both blocks feel cool to the touch and gfx is running perfectly fine with no artifacts so I know my water temps are fine, as well I know im getting good contact with the cpu with my waterblock because of the print it left when I test fit it with the thermal paste. I dunno. :(

Edit forgot about the HD, nope its perfectly nice and quiet like most Seagates are, other than it hanging on scan disc (which it never did with another mobo/cpu) it has always and still is running fine. Just hangs at scan disc which is annoying. :(

Okay, my first assumption was off. :p

Does your waterblock have any scratches on it? Is your CPU core scratched? That's about it for me, I'm out of ideas other than an OC gone wrong, but those usually result in BSOD's. You are OCing, right? Try backing it off a little...

You're following the instructions for your thermal past, right? AS3, AS-5, Ceramique, OCZ, what paste are you using? How are you applying it?

Hmm... Your voltage is stock, right? Try increasing it a little, but that won't help with your temps. :( Not sure...

I was having a problem similar to this a little more than a year ago on a Soyo board. Replaced the motherboard and the problem was gone, but I still haven't figured out quite why it was rebooting all the time at random.
