I just got a SI-97 for my 2500+ at 2.2ghz. I did have an SLK-800 on there but i wanted a new one. What I hated most about it was how much of a pain it was to install. I dont like the idea of the retention clip being seperate from the heatsink. It kept falling off the clips on the back side while trying to push the screwdriver side down. I'm not sure if i messed up the Arctic Siver or not while i was trying to do the clip. I like the lower temps though. They are about 7C cooler than before.

ps If anyone has a suggestion on how to put this HSF on better, please let me know incase i have to reseat it!

I'll be getting one in the mail in the next couple of days - I'd love to hear installation advide too :) .

i never liked the install of that thing either... ended up bending the hell out of some fins with the screwdriver..

did it move side to side on you when you were trying to put the clip on?

This is the first I have heard of problems installing the SI-97. I installed mine with no problems at all. I lined up the stuff before hand and made marks with a pencil on the shim as to where the HS lined up. I ofcourse installed the fan before I installed the HS. As for the retenstion clip...didn't have any problems at all, went on with out moving the first time. No bent fins either. I just wish they sold fan clips to hold 120mm fans on it, that would be sweet.

what are yalls average temps idle and load? i think mine are little high....
