I've been working on this for a while. Actually I have been putting it off. I have modded my Shuttle SK21G to get a little more airflow to the GPU and for the case. Not to mention it looks cool

I couldn't fit a PCI card in there without moving the 4" cathode switch. It is where the digital audio port would noramally go on this particular Shuttle.

That looks fantastic. Could you show maybe a shot of what it looks like from the inside? I'd like to do something like that on my case :D

I admit it is kinda crude. I changed my mind on how to mount the mesh many times. I was thinking I was going to use screws. I didn't want to screw it up though (no pun intended). So then I found out that mnpctech.com usually uses the 3M mounting tape. This stuff is STRONG.

So I painted it with the self-etching primer, then used the kind of spray paint that is used on grills. It dries in 15 minutes and I was kinda eager. And it is a nice flat black looking color though it is hard to see it. I got lazy, I never painted the back of the mesh. I primed it though for protection against oxidization.

Now this is a close-up of a corner. It is mounted on the liner that I have in there to cover the edge. The gap between the mesh and the metal of the case was too much. It is fine mounting it on that lining. I didn't need so much mesh, I realized, because I was no longer mounting it to the metal, just the liner. Nothing a Dremel can't fix.

wow man.. that is amazing!!! looks great. Almost better then a clear widow!

Can we get a night shot with the cathode through the mesh. and then also what it looks like on your desk? thanks
 
Where did you get the mesh? I need to do something similar. I assume you dremeled the case? I'm worried about getting a clean cut after my experience with how thick the aluminum is on the back.
 
I am going to hold off taking a picture of it on the desk because I am getting a Frederik soon. I am using some other crappy Ikea desk that kinda blocks it with a bar. So soon I will take one.
