Anybody know what has changed between the original model and the V3 model besides the NIC card?

Shuttle rep says:

"Actually, NVIDIA is phasing out the nForce3 Ultra so we had to move to the 250Gb for the SN95G5 v3. The v3 gains the hardware firewall, but loses the 2000MT/s HyperTransport link of the Ultra. There is no performance difference between 2000MT/s and 1600MT/s in a single processor system, so we think its a reasonable trade-off."

I've also read people say v1/v2 doesn't support venice/san diego cores and they won't support dual core processor while v3 will but I haven't read anything official from shuttle about that.

I tried to get a v3 from mwave but it kinda got screwed up.

Then I ordered from a site that actually sells both but sells the v3 at quite a bit of a higher cost... . I know if I waited a few weeks I could have saved a 30-60 bucks but hey it's only money right? I'll have my processor in around monday/tuesday and I didn't want to wait for my system too much longer.

the V3 has NF3 250gb, and the earler versions had NF3 Ultra.

The earlier versions had ALOT of major issues (usb, nic, incompatibility, etc). Shuttle ironed out all these issues with the V3.

The V3 supports Venice, San Diego and possibly the X2, while the earlier versions *might* not.

The V3 doesnt have as many overclocking features as the earlier versions does. you cant select 1T command rate and the HTT is capped at 250. all of these minor issues will possibly be solved by a future bios update.

just get the V3, dont get the earlier versions. you can buy the V3 at Newegg now.

damn ti. i waited weeks for newegg to get it and i order mine 2 days ago and they get it in stock now?

ugh i'm going to try to cancel my order first thing monday. and order from newegg (censuspc does have good reviews but i've had best experience with newegg... and newegg is cheaper after shipping... or i could just bump my shipping up to 2 day air and come out to be same as what i'm getting with census but it's going ground.
