Shuttle SN25P Problems

My Shuttle SN25P has started to act up, usually when booting. Looking under System in Event Viewer I find several Warnings:
Event ID:51
An error was detected on device \Device\Harddisk1\D during a paging operation
Sometimes these warnings are followed by an Error:
Event ID:11
The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Harddisk1\D
When this happens the computer freezes during the boot process either leaving the XPC splash on the screen or black. Usually it boots eventually and once it does everything appears to be fine.
I am using the Microsoft IDE driver not the Nvidia one.
I have also got warnings about the system detecting a bad block on \device\Harddisk1\D.
But whenever I ran a disk check nothing was found. Although I did re-format the D drive and seem to have replaced the bad block errors with those above? I have recently installed Sony's SonicStage v4 software onto the computer. So I am at a loss what to do now.

Well it looks like writing about my problem on this forum got the old grey cells functioning.

Harddisk1 was the SATA drive and what had I not changed on my SN25P?
The *$%^@^! SATA cables, argh!!
So guess what put a new SATA cable in and booted first time. (I had bought one just in case!)
Ah well it did mean I could blow some of the dust out of the unit.

I am complete idiot I followed the excellent instructions by Aldoria except for changing the SATA cables so its my own fault and Aldoria strikes again!

So thank you Aldoria for your SN25P guide and I will follow all the instructions next time!
