Shuttle Problem, freezing before can install mobo drivers

Hey guys,

first time shuttle builder...

so i lost the mobo cd, so i downloaded them to my thumb drive and im trying to install the mobo drivers, and it CONSTANTLY freezes before i can install them.

any ideas?


Shuttle Model: ST61G4B
1 Gig Mushkin DDR333 PC 2700 Value Ram
ATi 9200 SE
WD 80 Gig 7200 RPM hard drive
Lite On DVD +/- R/RW

any help is appreaciated

Yes, have you installed Service Pack1a yet? Without it, your USB drivers by default will have a yellow bang associated with them in the device manager which is probably causing your lockup. Service Pack1 adds support for USB 2.0 Enhanced drivers which you need in order for the thumb drive to work correctly within WinXP. After installing Service Pack 1a, go to your device manager and on the offending USB driver, tell it to update but don't point it anywhere other than to search for the better driver. XP will find the update applied and the yellow bang should dissapear. Then you are ready to install the mobo drivers.
