Overall, an easy overclock. So far it's 18 hour Prime95 stable. 3dmark 2001 scores of roughly 28k. I may go for 2.6ghz.

Unixadm, is that using the stock ICE cooler? and also, what type of interface material are you using on the HSF? I'm going to be building a new computer was thinking of doing pretty much the same thing as you. :)

Stock ICE cooler with some Arctic Silver Cremique that I had laying around. Keep in mind that the fans are all running very slowly - you can set them manually, let the system handle it or set specified CPU temps that will trigger than fans to ramp up. I just have it on "Smart Fan" in the bios.

So far, I'm 25 hours Prime95 stable so it's looking good. The one thing is the SN25P in my case undervolted the CPU by about .05. When I booted it up the voltage was indicated at 1.35, so I had to up to it 1.475 to get it to an indicated 1.40-1.41, or 1.39 under load. I'll try a lower VCORE once Prime goes for 30 hours.

EDIT: Made an error in my Prime95 duration.

Im using ceramique too, IMHO its better than AS5. My fans are set to 70%, still very silent (more or less, again, in my opinion).

Im having the same vcore problem with my system too. I need to set it to 1.425 in BIOS to get 1.31-1.34 in windows. But w/e works i guess..

My system is now prime and 3dmark stable tho :D

I have pretty much the same results as unixadm. SN25P venice 3200 at 2500 stock everything. My ram is the big issue, junk simpletech than can only run 3 3 3 8 at 166.
CPU-Z shows 1.376 v instead of 1.4, not sure what that means. Using ceramique with the fans on smart fan. I had to change the cooler on the x800xl to a zalmon to keep the system quiet. Got to say that this is a great combo, venice and this system, never got an extra 500mhz so easy. Hey, when I used clockgen I got my HTT to over 300. 320 was stable but I did not walk it up any higher. Considering that was stock volts it was impressive.

Ya i got an ASUS 6600GT perposely, the fan is dead silent- tho i have a VF700 sitting right in front of me, the ASUS fan does a great job, silent + copper.

Well my system passed 30 hours of Prime95. Just by chance I got an auto notify from Newegg today that the G.Skill PC 4400 LE memory just came back in stock. I ordered up a gig of that to install in this box. Hopefully that will yield some better OC results than what I'm getting from the PQI TCCD memory I currently have. It's still expensive unfortunately, but it's one of those things you either order it while you can as the TCCD stock can't last forever.

To me 1-2C isn't going to kill me. I think the Ceramique is easier to clean up and works well. I have a large tube of AS5 around here too. I just went digging through the parts drawer and came up with first.

Personally I've found better temps with Ceramique in the past on my Water Cooled Prescott system using a G4 Storm block and a MCP-350 Rev.2 pump when compared to AS5. But you have to factor in a precentage of error for any test like this.

Ceramique Pros:
-Non conductive
-Easy to clean
-Less time to 'settle' or 'burn in'
-Cheaper! :)
-Doesnt Stain

Cons:
-If not applied with a perfect amount, it will usually cool worse than AS5
-More liquidy (some people like thicker compound)
-Cant think of anymore....

I use the ceramique because at the time I bought it, it was amoung the best. I literally bought the giant syringe two days before they anounced as5. It works good and I have so much of it I feel the need to use it. Hell, I have so much I purposely look for things that I can cool, even if they don't need it.
On the ram issue, can anyone offer up some good ram with x22x timings that is not overly expensive. I am not looking to clock my ram past 200, 220 at the most, I just want to run good timings and not be limited at the lower speed ranges. Twinmos looks nice but I am not looking to volt mod to get X22X.

id recommend Twinmos SP. mine does 225mhz 2225 1T with 2.9v. most twinmos is CH-5, but i got lucky i got BH-5. its only $52 a stick!

The Patriot stuff is good, 5-2-3-2.... and like 130$

That twinmos thats cheap will do good also.

Athlon 64 Venice 3500+ OEM
Stock: 200x11 2.2GHZ 1.4vc
OC: 260x10 2.6GHZ 1.5vc
Ram: Kingmax Hardcore 3-4-4-8 2.8 (havent tried OC at all, and dont care too :) )
Video: Connect3d ATI X850 XT PCI-E @ Stock

Case Fans: Smart fan - keeps it around 38 to 56 degrees depending on what I am doing
Video Fan: 35% or so - keep its around 40 to 75 degrees depending on what I am doing

As for overclocking the video card... I have tried it, In fact I got my XT up to PE speeds fairly easily. What I have encountere though was.. While playing World of Warcarft I noticed my keyboard going out for 5 seconds or so every 30 seconds. I figured my overclock on the video card combined with my overclock on the cpu was using just enough power that it needed to steal it from my keyboard (no clue if this is true or not). Anyway, I reduced my card back to stock and it hasn't done it since.. Wierd :|

Very easy mobo to overclock. I love everything about this pc. While surfing the net or so, its nearly dead silent. When I am in games it heats up and gets a tad louder, but NOTHING like my old tower case did!

Does anyone else have a way to monitor their +12v rail on this SilentX 350w PSU? Speedfan reports it at 11.71....IN my ATX setups i would freak if my PSU had an 11.71 +12v rail.. heh.

Does anyone else have this problem?

Mine indicates 11.5x VDC. I'm going to check it with my DVOM tonight. I've yet to find a board that has spot on accuracy for monitoring different aspects of the system.
