SHuttle computers?

A shuttle PC is a barebone system. This means that it comes with the motherboard inside of the chasis and that is it. If you want a complete system and you don't have any previous parts that you can put inside of it then you will need to buy all new parts. The particular shuttle you are looking requires an AMD 64 processor so you would have to buy one of those, it does not have onboard video so you would need a video card. You would also need to buy ram if you don't have any that you can swap in ( this shuttle only takes DDR 400 or 333 so you will need pc3200 or pc2700 ). And if you do not have any hard drives that you can put in then you will need to buy those as well. This shuttle can take both IDE and Sata hard drives so your options are greater. So long story short, shuttle computers come with the chasis (case) and the motherboard pre-installed, and also the ICE system which is used for cooling the CPU so you do not use the stock heatsink that will come with your processor.
 
shuttles are only mobo, case, and power supply. you would need CPU, RAM, HD, vid card, optical drive. You can go to shuttle's web site and buy complete systems.
 
You can go to shuttle to learn more. These systems are more to me than "barebones". Shuttle does a really nice job of routing all the cables for you and has already attached the front end headers to the power and HDD leds,etc. The usb adn firewire are also wired up. Everything is neat,tidy and labeled. This sn25p will require pci-e graphics card and will easily take a full sized card. You supply the stuff everyone else has spoken of. the heatsink is slightly different version of ICE in this new model, but is very easy to place. You will find everything easy to put together without tools of any kind. (I dont work for shuttle but Ive got two and I really like them.) This system can take 2 HD easily and has a card reader already in place. It is slightly bigger than most of the G5 models.

That model can take 3 HDD's actually. Besides the prewired stuff, you must supply the CPU, RAM, HDD"s, video card and optical drives for Shuttles. For more info, visit the dudes at SFFtech

Shuttles are great and I am going to go with a 939 shuttle soon. If you have parts laying around as I do all you really need is the processor so it would be a cheap build.
 
Some of the shuttles include onboard video. While not anything you want to game with, it's fine for general office use.
