Shure SE530PTH (MSRP $549) top of the line earphones on sale at ecost for an astonishing $53.99 (WTF)!!!

http://www.ecost.com/Detail/Electronics/Shure/SE530PTH/36655543.aspx?navid=155441530 (back up to $499.99 and on backorder)
http://www.ecost.com/Detail.aspx?edp=36655527&navid=155441519 (back up to normal price)
http://www.ecost.com/Detail.aspx?edp=44129009&navid=155441519 (SE115 for $24.99)
http://www.ecost.com/Detail.aspx?edp=36655498&navid=155441519 (SE310 for $139.99, around $50 cheaper than elsewhere for whatever that's worth)

I'm not sure if this is legit because ecost shows the regular SE530's for $449.99 and out of stock... but I've purchased from ecost before and they're pretty reliable. Just bought em for $69 after tax and shipping... hope this is real.

according to Stereophile.com: Shure added modular cables (different lengths are available), as well as a standard in-line volume attenuator and a Push To Hear (PTH) module ($50) that "allows you to activate the VoicePort microphone and adjust levels of external sound for clarity—ideal for brief conversations without removing your earphones."

I'm officially scared. But, the ecost page doesn't say it's just a module, it says it's headphones. Is this arguable? Also, the SE420's don't even say PTH on the page... but they're still $53.99.

EDIT: read this bit on pricing: http://www.ecost.com/ecost/information/help/ordering.asp#b

Oh good... I just found out they're backordered as well. Stupid, stupid Ecost.

I am very tempted to try this, but I shouldn't really be spending the money.

Edit: I just ordered it. Don't really expect it to go through, but I've always wanted to get a nice pair of headphones, and these definitely fit that description.

kinda sucks after placing my order it says backordered. oh well im hoping for the best im not losing anything so :).

Oh goody, the price has soared back up to $499.99 and it's still out of stock. The SE420's are still $53.99... I bet multiple people ordering the SE530's made them realize they screwed up... sigh. Is anyone willing to order the SE420's or SE115's and see if they suddenly go on backorder too? The normal priced versions are still in stock, maybe you'll get lucky.

LOL

I haven't seem a price mishap in a long long time. I remember some years ago it a regular occurrence to see thread with pricematches and the hordes of n00b ordering 100 sets of whatever it was.

i bet the only reason these stores realize they have price mistakes is because they closely look at orders of 1000 or more :D
