CRT? What's that? Is that those big things my grandpa used to use? :p

LOLERCOPTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111111111111

They will stick around as a cheap and effective monitor choice for awhile is my guess. I have one, it works great. *shrugs*.

Well.....what offers better performacne...a 21" CRT for $200 or a 21" Dell 2005 FPW for ~$450? My bet would be on the Sony CRT. If I would be buying a LCD, i would get that 21" Gateway, but seeing that one is fairly expesnive $600..I am probably going to get a 21" CRT :p

Why settle for one, when you can have both? lol

Dude, seriously... I want that monitor SOO BAD! Omfg, damn... I must find one in europe! IT'S ALL MINE!!!! Ooooh, so sweeet.

My video card only supports two displays... and most of the time I just use one for video and one for webpages. I don't need a third one... in fact, with the Gateway LCD, I don't really need 2... but it's nice to have. :)

The black CRT isnt in use, just wanted to test out quad monitors. The left-most CRT is KVM'd to the IBM PC you can see poking out form under the desk

Heres mine, sorry for the kind of crappy photo.

I have a 17" (thats a 15") CRT monitor but the brightness is crap, 100% but it feels like its on 10%.

How long has your desk been all bendy like that? :)

The little grenade actually keeps the desk from being MORE bendy. That is the downside of 21 inch CRT's they are heavy buggers.

BTW, left two monitors are workstation. Right monitor is server.

I ask because I am looking to getting a new monitor. the $400 (Sceptre and ViewSonic)21" LCDs don't seem great. the $600 LCD is a bit expensive for me right now. so I am looking to getting a good CRT.

beautiful monitor  How much did you pay?

$400 shipped off Ebay back in September. I wouldn't normally order a monitor off ebay but couldn't resist the price and the seller had sold a lot of them already with positive feedback, plus I had always wanted one in the past but at a retail price of $2,300 it just wasnt happening :)

Its a damn shame Sony stopped making PC CRTs especially after you see one of these in person.. I certainly wouldn't trade it for any LCD currently on the market.

The Holy Grail of CRT's:

 Weight:1000 Pounds Screen: 20" Viewing area. Shes a gaming beast.

Dont quite have a use for her yet though... :D

Heres my 21' trinitron monitor. Its an SGI box with a Dell P1110 tube inside. It was great when it was problem free but now every 10 minutes the screen blurs to the point where u cant read text :\

Before I went to LCD's, this was my old setup with 2x 17" NEC MultiSync FE700+'s

Okay.. Did you actually play your games that way? And if so.. that's just nuts. :D

Yeah, I did, sorta. Halo was the only game I had that would do dual monitor, so I had to take advantage of that. At least with LCD's now, it not so bad.

22" HP P1230 Diamondtron. I got it as brand new, less than year ago.

Only things about CRTs are the big borders around the screens. Dual monitor feels kind of awkward with that much of a space in between screens.

This is my quad monitor setup. I used to have a dual setup for about 2 years, but I just kept running out of space, so with my upgraded pc this year, I went for quad. There is no going back ;)
