ok, heres my setup:
AMD XP3000+ (333fsb) @2.536ghz (13X multiplier is locked)
Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe mobo
1 gig of kingston Hyper X PC3200 RAM(id say the latency, but idk the order its read in)
80gig IDE seagate (barracuda 7200.7)
i also have 2X 200gig SATA seagate barracudas (model # is currently covered)

clock speed is 195 can get up to 199, but is usually unstable on games
Vcore is 1.85v
idk if this is the correct order, but its the order of my mobo but my latency on my RAM is 8, 3, 3, 2.5 (cpu-z shows it as 2.5 CAS# Latency, 3 RAS# to CAS#, 3 RAS precharge, 8 TRAS#)
and my ram usage is set at 100% to match my cpu, if i do any other setting, it goes above the 218 clock speed that it can handle

ive been told that im not overclocking, just teasing my system, and was wondering if there is any other ways to get this thing kicked up? cooling is not a problem at the moment, i just want some huge increases, cause im rather angery with the lack of overclocking thanx to windows being unstable...

im willing to do everything that will increase my speed except for getting a new cpu or mobo, but i begg for EXTREMELY descriptive dirrections should i end up needing to saulder stuff to modify anything. any suggestions would be most excellent and i will try them
 
2536MHZ on an AXP seems fine to me...

and te latencies are read 2.5-3-3-8, some boards chagne the order, tis really confusing, generally though, smallest number first, biggest number last
 
k, thanx, but i still want to overclock faster, but i spose im fine with this speed if nothing works except for getting new shit besides the occasional HD
 
k, latency question related to overclocking...

is 3, 3, 3, 8 better than 2.5, 3, 3, 8? cause the other day i was lookin at cpu-z and noticed that it runs at 2, 3, 3, 8 at an fsb of 333... then it said it runs at 2.5, 3, 3, 8 at an fsb of 200
ive also heard that they can get their ram to run at 3, 3, 3, (and im assuming 8, they didnt say), so here is the real question... shout i keep my latency at 2.5, 3, 3, 8, or run it on 3, 3, 3, 8?
 
using a CAS of 3 will generally give u more overclocking headroom, but im not too sure with the AXP...a 2.5 latency will give u more performace but might limit ur RAM more
 
yeah, its default is at 2.5... so do u by any chance know more about optomizing ram? cause some good latencies would be nice, my ram can load just bout everything... i did do some monkeying arround and it loaded every slightly higher to lower combo i threw at it, but i moved them all in intervuls so i didnt do operation fuck up on my ram... more input would be swell though... at the moment im able to get my clock speed up to 200 stably, but i have to have the fsb spread spectrum set at 1% which orriginally the clock speed should set me JUST above 2.6ghz. but with the spect. it runs at 2.58ghz... it almost loads stable without the spectrum... so my thoughts are that a better latency might help just enough to load windows stabley at 2.6ghz... thanx for ur prev. input
 
well if u wanna raise ur FSB and keep RAM 1:1 then ull more than likely have to relax the timings....relaxed timings with higher FSB is good as is tight timings and lower FSB...but generally if ur OCing the CPU and want to keep a 1:1 ratio, then loosen the timings...also i beleive the FSB spread spectrum affects the PCI lock...i disable it to keep my PCI speed at 33mhz to prevent crashes
 
well 2.5-3-3-8 timings are pretty relaxed...ur RAM might not be able to handle any more...im not too familiar with kingston RAM so i cant really say...u might have to use a divider (if the AXP have them?) otherwise, that might be what ur stuck at...using 3-3-3-8 timings might allow u to increase the FSB a tad more
 
k, thanx, do u recomend anything more relaxed than that? or would that be pushin it on loss of preformance... but i shall try it now...
 
k, i tried both relaxed and tighter timings and absolutly no luck... a bit dissapointing, but expected...and considering that they dont make as many of the socket A/462 mobos (i also found out i have the 2nd best socketA that newegg offers) so im just gonna hold off on overclocking untill i can afford to purchase a 64bit system, probly a fx or x2... if im gonna upgrade, im gonna shoot for the best, but i dont need any more support or suggestions unless some1 knows how to mod the voltages on my mobo... links would be helpful...

What do you mean by "mod" the voltages? You can just turn them up in teh bios?
 
my voltages are at max and ive heard L337 rumors of replacing the capacitors that deal with cpu voltage... ive actually seen a mobo that its been done on in person, and a bit ago i saw a pic of 1 on a site, with a step by step guide on hw to do it, but i lost the url of that site... and since i have only so little to go to reach my goal to jump my voltage up to 2.0V rather than 1.85V would almost be overdoing it... and i dont know if the mobo recognizes this change, but i guess thats what monitoring programs such as cpu-z are for...
