Should we see a reduction in rogues/fake alerts now? Russian bust!

Interesting, did not even realize they had laws there for that, so why can't they do something about all the spam and other crap too? Either way, it's a good start.
 
I would venture to guess that it will be a temporary drop, if any.

When I had issues with my pfsense after a failed update.... I couldnt run Country Block. Our forum was getting spammed with 20 new accounts a day. (we use a template that doesnt have a good anti-spam captcha but it looks so pretty :D )

I have it set to approve new members so id get all those emails everyday. I would always run a whois on it just incase we really did know the person. But A LOT of them were in Russia. Since I've installed Country Block again I get a spam account once a week or so.
 
the was on spyware/malware is like the war on drugs, the second you shut one down, someone else moves into the same building and starts the next day.

Its a war that will go nowhere
 
Sorry for the necro, but after a lull for two months after this, I am starting to see an uptick in infected machines again. Anyone else?
