I just got a new hard drive for my CSS server because my other one fried. And after a few days, my hard drive works fine still, but makes a certain clicking noise every time I turn off my computer.

The hard drive I bought is a Western Digital Caviar SE 200GB.

So, should I worry about the clicking noise or what?

if you're worried, why not you run a diagnostic tool from the manufacturer??

i personally like Western Digital's Data Lifeguard Diagnostic Tools

Sounds like the standard parking click when powering down. Is it just one lound thunk then the power is removed? If so, that is normal.

Agreed. The heads of the disk move quickly to a special "parked" position to prevent damage to the disk surface when the drive is powered down.
