Hi,

I'm currently running a 2x 24" setup with NEC LCD2490WUXi and WUXi2 displays primarily for photo work and a little bit of gaming, but I was wondering if I'm missing out on anything that's currently on the market or will be in the near future?

I've been enticed by the various 27" threads and was thinking of using the 27" as center and NECs as outers. Would the different aspect ratios (16x9 vs 16x10) and physical sizes be an issue? How well do those 27's color compare to the NECs?
 
It's only an issue if you are using Eyefinity/nVSurround or if you are spanning a window such as a huge canvas in Photoshop or making a very long timeline in Premiere Pro. The aspect ratios and physical sizes are less important than the PPI - if the PPI doesn't match up you get distortion. In this case a 27" is 108PPI, your 24" are 94PPI which is very noticeable. If you are using the monitors as separate surfaces eg. a 27" as the canvas and the 24"'s for tools, previews, etc. then you don't care as long as you have a decent colorimeter. What is your video card? Can it drive 3 monitors and if so can it drive 7.5 megapixels (which is what you are proposing to do - the 27" monitor nearly doubles your current screen pixels)?
