Should I upgrade my visiontek 4850 512 to a sapphire 4850 1GB?

No price performance ratio involved please, just purely performance.

I game at 1680x1050, 1920x1200 and 2304x1440

All reviews for the 1GB 4850 I've found are old September 2008, the drivers improved greatly since then.

Is there a difference between the various brands of the 1GB 4850 (Sapphire, Gigabyte, HIS, XFX, Powercolor)

Did the 1GB advantage improve performance now?

If it's free then yes

edit: You would gain performance at a high res

if its not free get a 4890, or a 4870 since they're getting cheaper by the day due to the 4890

I asked the diff. brands question too before purchasing an Xfx 4890. Seems that everyone agrees they have the best support and warranty.

4850 1GB beat 4870 512 at 1920x1200 in Crysis when it just was released.
And due to the 4890, I hope drivers are now more 1GB optimized.

4890 is in a different league for me.

If it's free get it.

If you are spending money for it spend more and get a 4890.
