Hey guys I am running a Gigabyte gtx 670 windforce since the day they came out which is what 3 yrs now? If I were to upgrade what would be the best bang for the buck?

While I am not really pushing my current setup I dont like letting my equipment get so old that they are virtually worthless.

TIA

Upgrading to a 970 would be a good move. It's a lot faster and double your memory.

The AMD R9 290 is a great deal right now if you are brand-agnostic, with a lot of them going for around $300. If you want to stick with NVIDIA it is no question: grab a GTX 970. Both would be a great upgrade to your 670 right now. Anything else would probably be a side-grade or a mild upgrade right now.

But should you upgrade right now?...

What games are you playing and at what resolution/refresh rate?
Are you happy with the level of detail you can push in these games?
Are you or do you plan on playing any bleeding edge releases in the immediate future?

well thats the thing, im not really pushing my gpu right now. I used to play lots of COD but since that community went to hell in a hand basket i play csgo which does not even begin to push this gpu.

I was thinking from more of a system capabilities standpoint.

Ah, so you want to increase the size of your e-peen. I get it ;).

All we can give you is our opinion, but it's purely up to you.

My opinion is:
If all you're playing right now is CS:GO and/or other similar games that are not very demanding then there is no reason to upgrade your video card at this point. If you start playing something that needs more power in the future then I would consider an upgrade at that time.

no e-peen issues here lol. But, I do agree with your assessment.

Just wanted to run it by some unbiased community peeps.

Cheers!
