should i solder?

for my new rig(http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=784065) im going to have 6 toatal fans(2 front intake, 2 rear exost(all for being coolermaster blue led 80mm fans), 1 side intake, and one blowhole, both being aspire 80 mm) now, im also geting a fan controler, which has 4 channels w/ fan headers(no molex), though it comes w/ molex adapters for 2 of them. i would like to use one dedicated chanel for the side, and another for the blow-hole(useing a fan header/molex converter for both). i would also like a intake channel(for the front fans), and exost channel(for the rear fans). heres my problem. i need to make 2 sets of 2 fan's work on only 2 fan headers. should i just cut and solder the wires? if not, how else should i do this?

ps. i know this is somewhat of a repost from my rig post, but i thought it would be better as a 3rd topic)
 
I don't think you'll have any problems if you cut and solder them, all you're essentially doing is drawing more amperage from the fan controller. Just make sure you're not overloading it (which you probably won't) and you'll be fine
 
the controler can handle 17 watts per channel, not shure how many amps, but since 12 v is as high as it goes i think it is prob around 1.4amps(its amps times volts= watts right?). and i think a normal LED fan is around .2-5 amps a peice. i could bo toataly wrong on this.

btw, how should i cover up the solder. i might find a whay to hide it, but should i heatshrink over it or just electrical tape?
 
watts is indeed volts times amps, so 17 watts divided by 12 volts is 1.42 amps per channel. if you're using this fan you can see that its rated for .15amps, so you're pretty safe. As for covering the solder, that's strictly personal preference. Heatshrink looks more professional, but if its not going to be seen i would just go ahead and tape it up.
