Hi. I bought a shuttle back in the middle of December '04.

it has given me no problems until recently when i noticed that my usb devices all freeze up sometimes. this only seems to happen when i am transferring a lot of data across the ports, like using a usb2.0 flash drive, or a wireless-g usb ethernet adapter. that really is the only thing wrong with it, besides the card reader not wanting to work, but that isnt important to me at all.

I am just wondering if this is a problem others have run into or what the problem might be and if i could fix it.

all the components inside work great, its just when i start to plug stuff in that i run into trouble.

it works normally with just my mx310 usb mouse plugged in, and if i am sending things off to print to my usb printer...so yeah i dont know

i bought if from newegg.

can someone tell me the feasability of RMAing it, if i should RMA it, and how to go about RMAing it if that is indeed what i should do?

What model do you own? Does it only happen when all those devices are plugged in?

not all of them have to be plugged in. i can have a flash drive plugged in, and just chillin, and it will be fine. i can transfer files slowly, like 1 at a time with breaks in between (big files like mp3s, .doc works fine) but more than that and it will freeze my mouse. and then i will have to keyboard shut down it, and then it hangs on the screen where it says "windows is shutting down".

the wireless adapter works for a few minutes and then it does the same thing. pretty much
 
I have had problems with USB and Shutle XPC computers.
Like on one of a first I owned I have used to much power from USB and from one moment everything pluged in USB was unstable (even mouse). Then I've went for powered USB 2,0 hub but it wouldn't doo tricks anyways. Then PSU started to make problems :(
So I got new PSU and part of a USB stability problems where solved although I have never used all USB ports on XPC again.

Now on My new SN95G5 one of My external HDDs wan't spin up correctly. Disregarding doo I plug one or both of a plugs. It could be though hdd related allthough on one other PC it works fine even with just one plug pluged in. Though same HDD wan't work on MY laptop too.

I have two 2,5" external USB 2,0 drives that are powered from PC. One is powered with two USB plugs and other with PS/2 and USB plug. One with PS/2 power cable works fine with both 40 GB Hitachi hdds. One with two USB plugs works just on PC's with very stable USB power.
I have also two external USB 2,0 3,5" drives with external PSU and they work allways.
Next to it I use MS Intelli Explorere 3.0 and Wireless USB 2,0 54 Mb adapter and USB light or USB mini fan if needed.
I also use USB to sync My PDA (power and sync cable flexible)
I also use USB to transfer Pics from camera.
I also use USB for BT dongle to transfer stuf from cell.
Though all stuff I doo not use at moment are unpluged.

So I would say something with power for USB ain't done that great on some Shuttle SFF mainboards. My all USB stuff works on MY normal PC's just with Shuttle XPC and Laptops I have a problem.
