Should I return this? [backlight problem]

I just picked up a Samsung 2343BWX 23" but there's a small backlight issue on the bottom/bottom right parts of the screen.

I've read several reviews on this monitor before purchasing it and didn't come across many/if any regarding backlight issues like this. Is it worth it to try and return it to get a new one? Some of my main concerns are if a problem like this will get worse over time

BTW I'd rather keep this one than receive one with 1 or 2 dead pixels

The photo makes both screens look messed up because it is blurry, other than that I can't tell what the problem is, I see a border all the way around the screen but you say it is only in the corner?
 
sorry about the photo, it was taken with my phone

basically the problem is the bottom half of the monitor is slightly brighter than the top half. its more noticeable with bright/light colors, esp if they are solid colors. there is no issue when the screen is very dark or completely black
 
You could try returning it, but you probably won't get anything better. The pictures look like they were taken from a lower angle, so it could be a mix of uneven backlighting and viewing angles causing it to look bad.

If its significantly worse than the monitor you have next to it, I'd try exchanging it. I assume you've done the obvious stuff like adjusting the brightness?
 
That looks rather typical of any monitor that uses a TN panel.

The fact that you are using a camera on your phone may be over exaggerating the image a little bit. Best to use a regular camera.

I've decided to keep it, the brightness difference is quite noticeable with certain colors but not something i cannot live with. one thing I'm hoping for is that the brightness does not get any worse on the bottom. i'll be sure to avoid TN panels in the future
