Should I RAID1 or RAID5

Well I am looking at picking up atleast 1 more seagate 320GB drive, newegg has them down to $99. I was thinking why not just pick up 2 for a total of 3 and create a RAID5.

The motherboard I have is the ASUS M2N32-SLI which does support RAID5 albet in software I believe. My main reason for going RAID is for redundancy . My question is more to get people opinion.

Would I be better off just doing RAID1 with two drives or RAID5 with 3. Extra space would be nice but right now not a requirement. Data redundancy is the prime reason, maintaining atleast single drive performance would be nice. I know with software RAID5 I will probably take a higher CPU hit over RAID1 but how much higher? Does anyone have much experience with nvidia RAID5.
 
I would recommend RAID 1. It's cheaper and faster in most cases, and uses less CPU.
 
is this going to be the OS drive as well? Then RAID-1. Otherwise whatever floats your boat.
 
OS drive, off the MoBo, I would do RAID 1, and get a card to do a RAID 5 data drive
