Currently I have 5770 Crossfire and thinking going back to nvidia. I am looking at getting a single 560 or 570 then maybe couple months from now buy another for sli. What is your input greatly appreciated.

Box info: i7 quad overclocked to 4 GHz and 6 gig of ram on Rampage II board.
 
You won't be very [H]ard if you don't pull the trigger! Do it! Although you should definitely consider the AMD 6950 or 6970 if gaming at high res, they have 2GB of VRAM which helps.
 
it will look into that, but would like to go back to nvidia. i always used nvidia cards up until my 5770 crossfire setup. but yes i will be gaming in high res.
 
I would think at best you are looking at a marginal upgrade and at worst a sidegrade. Honestly you should either move to the GTX 580, a HD6950 or HD6970. The 6950 can unlock to a 6970 and is currently the best value in GPU's.
 
One GTX560Ti is no faster than two HD5770s really, well it is by about 8-10%. It uses just as much power as your 5770s in crossfire do as well, so no gains there either.

If you want an upgrade swap the 5770s for a pair of 6870s. Less than $450 outlay and an enormous gain in performance (100%).

GTX 570. Although the GTX 560 is of great value, the GTX 570 is more powerful and more "future proof", especially if you think of tessellation usage.
 
adding more info: just picked up a Vizio 37" LCD 120 Hz 1080 with 5 ms response time which i am using as computer monitor. i do play games such as black ops, bf2, starcraft and etc. not a hardcore gamer anymore but whenever i get time.

my 5770 crossfire setup seems to handle the 37" display in 1900x1080 res, would upgrading my vid card make a difference?

probably will purchase one card first then purchase same card for sli or crossfire.
 
If you want to go Nvidia, go with the Gigabyte gtx560 at a factory 900 core for 250$ shipped. It gives you room to grow later when you need more performance. Sell your 5770's for 150$.
