Should I have fastwrite on or off?

I just installed the 4.2 catalyst and I dunno what I should have it on. I have a radeon 9800 np incase that matters
 
just benchmark it with on/off and see which one is better.,
 
I always leave mine off because Ive noticed instabily in games with it on (mostly beta's).
 
as long as core and video logic do not create an issue then it should always be enabled. some people have issues due to the core logic they have chosen e.g. via. it could also be from improper installation, bios options, etc..

here is an explanation of the 2 of the few core agp features:

side band addressing (SBA): allows the graphics controller to issue new addresses and requests simultaneously while data continues to move from previous requests

fast writes: using pci addressing schematics to transfer data using the agp rate at which it is set. this is the alternative to the processor placing the data in memory and then having the agp acellerator read the data ( benchmarking does not necessarily show the benefit of this. this is more of a reduction of work load and interrupts. making a more efficient usage of system resources)
