It's odd.... often in my computer-related life I do stuff that makes friends and family say things like "I just can't imagine what you need that for."

Once in a while even hardforumers have said that :).

But one thing I have never done is bought a 'high quality' case. When I buy a case I get one locally, and just make sure that:

-it has a removeable motherboard tray (cheapest ones don't)
-it can't cut off my finger (still something to be wary of)
-it has a sufficient number of drive-bays (never a problem anymore)
-it has a good PSU

One day I might have to buy myself a really nice case, just to see what I'm missing :).

Erik

OK so i'm about to buy the case from "ebuy.com" would you guys recommend this? it's $97 after shipping and everything!

this will be the first part for my pc. i'm in pretty much no rush but i really really like this case and was wondering if you guys think it's worth it!!!

haha

Looks familiar ;)

Right down to the Sonata, which you'll enjoy!

Mine is so neat and tidy after some cable management. The main ATX mobo connector comes presleaved, which is nice, too!

ok so i bought the case last night for $97 after shipping and everything from ebuy.com. do you guys think that was a good deal, and is it a good retailer? i saw it had 4 stars at overclockers.com.

Only you can be the real judge of whether or not it was worth it. Some might tell you it wasn't but if you enjoy it and like the case then I say it was.

misfitsfiend, why are you getting the 266 FSB version of the Barton when you can get the 333 FSB version for 75 dollars?

Barton

Barton

Because the mobile version that is used in laptops has an unlocked multi and runs at 1.45v instead of 1.65v so it will overclock to 2.4Ghz or higher.

I would probably get a Sony or Mitsumi floppy drive instead though :p .
