should I get a higher processor and more ram?

look I know Amd is the choice for gaming. But tell that to dell. If they had an amd i would take it i na heart beat.Building or buying a system will be more expessive then what im spending now with the currect specs I want.

Your joking right? Building and buying from Monarch would both be a lot cheaper.

I checked it out with the same exact specs and better case yes.

without monitor mine costs 2300

Why the same exact specs? With that budget you could get a Athlon 64 4000+ that would be a lot faster. Also there is no real-world performance gain from using RAID-0

would this system with monitor from abspc be better?

Here. I went and took the time to make a configuration on Monarch. This would be much better then that Dell.

Antec Performance One P160 case
Enermax EG565P-FMA 535w PSU
Asus A8N-SLI
AMD Athlon 64 4000+
Thermal Grease
AMD Certified heatsink
1GB Corsair RAM
74GB Raptor
Samsung 160GB
NEC 3520A
Floppy
2x eVGA 6800GT's in SLI
Windows XP Home
ViewSonic 19" G90F
Logitech Elite keyboard
Logitech MX518
Logitech X-530
Total - $2587.23

That is just a little more expensive but would be a hell of a lot faster. That is with a lot of added stuff that you didn't mention and it has two 6800GT's. That would perform a lot better.

Of course you can change this configuration, but just to give you a general idea of what you can get for the price.

160gb storage har drive
X850 Xt pe

16 dvd burner
Dell m993 19 inch

So out of these 2 im gone pick.

Why did you even post this topic if you are not going to listyen to people? My config is much better then both of those and just about everyone else who posted in this topic would probably agree. They would also agree that Monarch is very reliable.

If you want to get the best performance for your money go to Monarch.

I listed to you and I said I don't like it. The question was I asked ONLY out of those 2. IF I want to buy from abs that is my choice. your choice was mon and I respect it but that's not what I was asking.

i like KoolDrew's PC.. they only thing i would do is get a 3800+ an screw the SLI shit. use that money on a sweet monitor. i have a viewsonic 90f, it's not the greatest

That is what I would suggest too, but I was just trying to get soemthing similair to the Dell he chose which had a 19" CRT. I would get a nice 19" LCD or something. And instead of SLI get an X850XT.

true.. the OP is just going along with the hype.. (i.e. SLI == great).. but hey, what could you do..

I'll rather spend that $600 on a better sound setup :p

higher proc

there is really little need for more ram than a gig of ram
I would say go with the higher CPU. One gig of RAM will run just fine.

So am I better to go with a x850xt or 6800 gt sli? which will perform more smoother?

I play hl2,d3, far cry,bf

2 6800GT's in SLI would perform better, but the X850XT is a great card anyway. I would go with mjz_5's suggestion. Gow tih a single X850XT and spend money on a good LCD and other things.

should I get the amd 3500 maybe instead of the amd 3800. IS there a huge performace gap there?

this is what i would personally go with:

amd 64 3500+
MSI K8N Neo4-F (non SLI)
nVidia 6800GT 256 MB
Antec case with 430 watt PS
1 = gig(2x512) Corsair ram
1 = 74 raptor (system and games)
1 = large seagate drive for storage
NEC ND3520 DVD writer
Dell 2005FP 20in Wide Flat Panel Monitor
creative audigy 2 ZS oem soundcard (HDA Mystique card, but haven't tried it)

thats pretty much it, don't think i missed anything
