I just got a x800 pro vivo from a localer who was too afriad to flash it... its running games good at 500/500 and can overclock to 523/576... but should i open up all my pipes and go for the gold... it does stutter a bit hwen running games at 1280x1024, and i cant get 3dmark03 to finsh, but i can run 3dmark 05 all day long... i get a 4800 score... im thinking 4 pipelines will give me and extra 1000.... should i do it?

i am running 520/560 right now.... funnny thing is the higher i run the card the better it performs until about 525/575 then it gets some facts..... now i need to hook up a floppy drive ... wtg

Not to steal the thread but I just ordered a ABIT ATI Radeon X800 PRO Video Card, Model "RX800pro-VIO". and I was wondering if I could do the flashmod to this card and if so, would I use the bios and instruction in the link apple posted?

Omg it works so +2000 in 3dmark 03 im hitting 13500 now and im ready to attack 3dmark 05... get a vivo if you can :) goodbye my 6800 gt

What kind of processor are you running? I'm running a P4 3.4 northwood and my stock x800pro ran 4600 3dmark05

I've managed to get it up to 5600 with watercooling and volt-modding, but unfortunately I can't get 16 pipes.

Omg it works

Congrats. :) What i said, the chance that it works is very high. Pro vivo's are actually XTPE's which are downflashed by Ati because they weren't stable beyond XTPE speeds. (a genuine XTPE needs a good safety range beyond 520/560).

People who gonna buy a Pro Vivo; look for the one's that have the 1.6ns memory chips, these are the ones that can be softmodded to XTPE. Some time ago there were some rumours that some Pro Vivo's hit the market that have 2.0ns mem chips, and those can't be modded. However, this rumour has died, so it's pretty safe now. But be carefull.

If it helps anyone the card I sucessfully modded was the HIS Excalibur Vivo. Comes stock with a silencer so I figured it would be a good candidate. So far so good been running it 16 pipes for months. Overclocks a fair bit beyond the XT PE speeds too I can bench it at 546/594 with no arts. Still too scared to volt-mod :p
