Hi guys,

Just ordered a new system from Scan in the UK with following spec:

ASUS P5B Deluxe/WiFi-AP iP965 MoBo
580w Tagan EasyCon - TG580-U15 - EasyCon SLi Silent Modular PSU
Sharkoon 12" Blue CCFL 2in1 Kit
120mm Akasa Amber Case Fan, 3 Pin
Akasa Mirage-62 Midi Tower Case with Akasa Maxi-View Window Side Panel
Core 2 Duo E6600 2.40Ghz OC'd
Alphacool Starter Retail Universal CPU Kit 12v Watercooling
2Gb (2X1Gb) Corsair TwinX XMS2 DDR2 PC6400 (800) Non-ECC Unbuffered CAS 5-5-5-12
XFX 8800GTS PCI-E
500Gb Seagate ST3500630AS Barracuda 7200.10 SATA300
Icy Dock MB-453SPF Fits into 2 5.25" Bays with 3 SATAII Hard Drive with Hotswap
Mitsumi FA404M 1.44 Black FDD USB2 7 in 1 Card Reader
Sony Black 16x DVD-ROM
NEC AD-7173A-0B Labelflash Black 18x DVD±RW
Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Music

Now this system will start being built on the 14th Dec (hopefully!) and they are building and overclocking it all for me. Great. However, I'm not hugely convinced with the power supply.

A house mate has the same unit on his new system (odered from same place) and he's having quite some trouble with it. I've already upgraded mine from the 530w model for £10 but I'm tempted, having read quite a bit on these boards, to go up to a Seasonic.

I've compared my short list here

These are:
What I have now: 580w Tagan TG580-U15 EasyCon SLi Silent Modular £80.71
600w Seasonic M12-600 SLi Modular £110.44
600w Seasonic S12-600 SLi Ready Silent £89.72
620W Corsair HX Series Modular whisper quiet, 5 year warranty £96.35
650W Seasonic S-12 E+ SLi £110.44

I've already pushed my budget pretty far so I'm only upgrading if I need to. Having seen the problems with my friends machine, i was leaning away from modular but they just look so damn good and the M12 600w seems to be high quality?

Anyway, let me know which you think I should upgrade too, or if I should at all!

Thanks,
Gorlak

Drop the extra 16 lbs for the Corsair. Tagan isn't exactly good, especially after seeing JonnyGURU's review.

Thanks for the response!

Having read Jonny Guru's review I will be doing exactly as you suggest. The Corsair seems to be the way to go, looking forward to it now!
