I have a PII/PIII Dell Optiplex GX1 that I picked up a while ago for $5
I was thrilled to get it for that price! Anyways, I currently have a 433MHz PII in there, and I was thinking about upgrading it for folding. I could either overclock it to 500MHz and up, or I could buy a slocket to convert it to a socket 370. Then I could pop in a 1GHz chip there. I'm thinking even though the bus speed is slow, the CPU speed is what really matters. Would buying a slocket (on eBay for like $10 after shipping) and a new chip be a good idea, or a waste of money?
Anyone have any personal experience with a Slot1 to 370 slocket?
