Should I be worried?

I recently struck a deal with rooter for his 8600gt for $40 in this thread http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1401904 and paid with google checkout. I paid him on Monday night and he said he will ship it on Thursday. On Thursday, he updated google checkout to indicate that the item has been shipped, but didn't provide me with a tracking number. He hasn't responded to me since then, and I'm really worried, since he said he would give me the tracking number. Should I be worried or am I just jumping the gun?

Also.. what can I do if I never end up receiving the package?

Can you guys offer me some advice as well? Thanks a lot.

this is in his heat as a negative...

"Be warned. At the best he is a very slow and unresponsive trader who behaves like a troll and never seems able to ship when he says he will (or in my cases, ever)."

in his reply to this he admits he "stalled" and another time "forgot" to ship, his neutral is also an interesting read...

seems like he's honest but just not very prompt in regards to shipping, I would wait because from his heat he takes up to a month to ship at times...

Yea.. but I figured he had 17 positives so =\. I'll definitely be more careful in the future.

What do I do now though? He hasn't visited this board since Friday morning, and hasn't pm'd or emailed me back since Thursday night.

Should I wait until Thursday, which is a week after he said to have shipped it?

If worse comes to worse, would google be able to do anything about this, or how about my credit card company?

Okay.. I really don't know what to do now.. he hasn't responded to my PMs nor email. Would google be able to do anything?

I'd wait a bit longer if you can. You can likely get the money back via Google, and failing that it's $40 lost and a lesson learned -- that's why I never trade with anyone with negative heat without discussing it extensively with them, getting full contact info (phone numbers, addresses) etc.

a good practice t get full contact info from all u trade with not just negs ;)

Thank you very much for the responses guys! Was starting to get really bummed out. Yep, learned my lesson. Gotta be smart in the future with contact info, heatware, etc. I guess I'll wait just a bit longer before doing anything. I'll keep you guys updated about what ends up happening.

Okay guys.. so apparently I missed the pickup slip in my mailbox yesterday. So after opening it today, I had a nice surprise. Picked my videocard up at the post office and all is well. Thanks for everyone's advice. And sorry to rooter for doubting him so early on, I should have waited longer; I was just anxious to replace my dead card. I'm not going to be as hasty in the future.
