Should I attempt this?

Hello everyone...

I have an Intel 3.2 extreme edition (Northwood) CPU. Has anyone here ever had any experience with overclocking these? I know a lot of people have overclocked regular Northwoods, what about an EE? Does anyone think it would be possible to hit 4.0Ghz STABLE w/ water and the right memory?

Thanks guys..

lots of people oc'd the ee's back in the day btw I beleive its a Gallatin core.

if i recall corectly not many hit 4ghz without good cooling, that was back when intel was hitting the clock speed limit prior to the S478 prescott disaster.

I had one for a short time that I bought off of Egay, wouldn't even do 3.4 @ 1.6 volts 24/7 stable on water.

I probably just got a bad one.

So investing in a h2o cooling system for it would be a waste.. thanks guys for saving me a few hundred bucks and a lot of frustration.
