Just noticed this today: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102770

Official page: http://www.sapphiretech.com/us/products/products_overview.php?gpid=249&grp=3

Seems to be much smaller in size. Sapphire now has 3 alternate version of it.

interesting cooler, the heat sink literally looks like the stock intel heat sinks they package with their CPU's.

but that fan assembly is something else, wonder how well that works compared to stock.

SAPPHIRE Steps up HD 4800 Series with new HD 4850 model

Following the introduction of the highly acclaimed HD 4800 series, SAPPHIRE Technology, the leading manufacturer and worldwide supplier of AMD/ATI based graphics solutions is now shipping a new version of the SAPPHIRE HD 4850.
This new version of the HD 4850 has been production engineered by SAPPHIRE to bring a number of benefits to the end user. Still carrying 512MB of DDR3 memory and offering the same performance as the original model based on the reference design, with clock speeds of 625MHz (core) and 993MHz (memory), the SAPPHIRE model features a revised PCB layout with quality components and a new dual slot cooler with copper core which delivers more efficient and quieter operation. This version is shipping from the first week in August and will be available at a lower price than the launch model.

No sinks on the RAM

EDIT: So they've moved the power chips up to the front near the DVI connectors? Don't they use the +12V in from the PCIe connector? How much sense does this make?

Someone buy one or two, I'm really curious how the coolers perform.

there is another one with the Zalman on it. Not sure if ATI is pleased with this or not...I don't like buying cards with 1 year warrenties....:(

I know the one with the Zalman has a review out there. I forgot who but pretty much they said since it's OC it goes a little faster and runs cooler but the fan noise is about the same as regular.
