I'm making a move from NY to LA and looking for a way to ship some of my stuff. I have a 46" flat screen TV, my desktop tower and two 22" monitors. The hard drives, CPU and video card will be coming with me on the plane, so just the tower with mobo will be shipped. What would be the best way to get all of this stuff there?

I would just sell the monitors and TV and buy new ones.

At least that is what I would do if I was not moving the stuff myself or having a large moving company do it for me.

IF you have all the original packaging for the monitors and TV, it might be ok to ship, but is still going to cost a pretty penny to ship that TV.

You might consider U-Ship... But, in all honesty, that 46" tv can probably be bought new for less than what shipping will cost you. Uship is probably the best though. Maybe a 'blanket carrier' - which is basically a long distance moving company, that ships all their shipments wrapped in blankets. I think Atlas Van Lines is a blanket shipper, not sure.

Could also go wild with packing, and ship it on a pallet.. But it might be overkill. I'd estimate it would cost about $300 or more to put that on a pallet and ship it to LA.

Price out how much it will cost you to replace your tv, and see how much you can sell yours for. The 22" monitors will most likely cost about $100 total to ship, and considering I just bought a 27" 1440p monitor for $280, and there are plenty of options in the $100-200 range, keep that in mind...

I own my own catalog business, so I ship stuff everyday...

Where in NY are you? I'm out in Quogue, LI. I wish I was moving to LA... life is so much cooler out there...
