I'm selling my Raspberry Pi, and I've ran out of ESD pouches, and I'm quite reluctant to just wrap it in plastic padding. And because I live in the middle of a forest, I doubt I could buy any ESD pouches anywhere near. So are there any homemade ways I could protect the precious electronics?
 
I've read a lot of things on this issue, but nothing proven.

Some people say to place the item in a brown paper bag, then wrap that bag with aluminum foil.

I've also read that using dryer sheets will prevent ESD.
 
If you're 100% sure the device has no battery, wrap it in aluminum foil, and then put that in about anything. But in case the foil breaks, it's better to use crumped paper rather than plastic padding. Avoid shiney paper -- newspaper and brown paper are fine.
 
Um.. batteries aren't the only thing in electronics that can hold a charge.
 
Yeah, as the original post told, it was Raspberry Pi that I was shipping. I put it in a normal paper letter, and the wrapped in padding, and then put it in even larger letter.
